Kirtan

Level 1

Students will learn how to play the Vaja by learning the basic musical scale known as SARGAM. Students are taught introductory Shabads and also get the opportunity to perform during Sunday Youth & Family Darbar.

Level 2

In this level, students further develop their skill level by practicing various complex SARGAM scales, allowing them to master and learn more advanced Shabads. They also get the opportunity to perform during Sunday Youth & Family Darbar.

Level 3

Students expand their skill level by learning complex Shabads while incorporating Taanay. They continue to gain performance experience during Sunday Youth & Family Darbar.

Level 4

Students continue to expand their skill level by learning complex Shabads and incorporating Taanay. They also begin practicing Kirtan in different Taals and have the opportunity to perform during Sunday Youth & Family Darbar.

Level 5

At this stage, students strengthen and refine their Kirtan skills through complex Shabads, Taanay, and practice in different Taals. They also continue to build confidence by performing during Sunday Youth & Family Darbar.
