The children and youth of Abbotsford are offered two Gurmat Camps each year: Spring Gurmat Camp and Summer Gurmat Camp. These camps give children the opportunity to spend fun-filled days with other children while learning about Sikh History, Gurmat, and Gatka. Students also take part in creative Khalsa arts and crafts, Seva time, question-and-answer sessions, sports, and recreational activities.
Gurmat Camps help young Sikh children continue growing emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Camp benefits include meeting other children, spending less time in front of screens, preventing learning loss, connecting with positive role models, learning about Gurmat and Sikh History, staying physically active, and having lots of fun.
To support and serve our children to the fullest, there will be one volunteer for every four students. This ratio helps ensure strong classroom management, quick responses to student needs, and a smooth camp experience throughout the day.
