REMINDER!
20th ANNUAL SHAHEEDI SMAGAM

Open to everyone!
As in the past 19 years, Gurmat Center will be remembering the great Shaheeds of the Sikh nation at the 20th annual Shaheedi Smagam. Gurmat Center’s goal has always been to promote the message of Sikhi and to remember the legacy of our brave Shaheeds. The Shaheedi Smagam is always held on the 31st of October so our youth can spend a wonderful evening in the company of Guru Sahib and the Sangat.
All celebrations are great but to forget our own history is an injustice to our future generation. Let’s help our children realize how great their Sikh heritage is and bring them out to Gurmat Center on Monday, October 31, 2022. After two years of Virtual Shaheedi Smagam, Gurmat Center is happy to announce that this year Shaheedi Smagam will be returning as it used to be, meaning in-person! Children will receive a bag of candy in place of the time they would spend trick or treating. At the same time, they will enjoy an entire evening filled with fun and excitement including pizza, french fries, ice-cream sandwiches, treats, prizes, and Gatka demos!

CLASS CANCELLATION
Please note that all classes (Punjabi, Santhia, & Kirtan) will be cancelled on Monday, October 31, 2022 due to the Shaheedi Smagam.

ABOUT THE GUEST SPEAKER
Bhai Amandeep Singh Jee, from the UK, is passionate about sharing our Sikh History and Gurbani. Bhai Amandeep Singh has been invited to speak at the Ministry of Defence, Scotland Yard and the Home Office, delivering discourses on Sikh History. Having discovered Sikhi dharma whilst at university, Amandeep Singh is keen to give back and has lectured at most of the UK’s leading universities and educational institutions around the country, to help students to connect with Sikhi.
