Movie week was the perfect way to unwind and celebrate the end of final exams! Our students gathered together, enjoyed a movie and snacks with their classmates. We look forward to honouring our students at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, June, 11! 

With Guru Ji’s Kirpa, the Level 6 Part 2 class have reached the end of their Guru Granth Sahib Ji Santhia. These students have developed shudh ucharan (correct pronunciation) of Gurbani over the past 2 years. On Sunday, May 28th, these students took part in a Sehaj Paath Bhog. A big thank you to their teacher, Bhai Ravi Singh Jee for helping them prepare! We do Ardaas to Guru Sahib that all the students continue their Sahej Paaath abhiyaas (practice).

Over the last 2 weeks, Punjabi, Santhia, & Sikh Studies students completed their final exams for the school year. Students will be recognized with custom plaques on the day of the Awards Ceremony. Meanwhile, the office Sevadars are hard at work, preparing year-end awards and report cards.

This month’s GCY guest speaker was Bhai Tajinder Singh Jee. Bhai Sahib talked about small changes that we can make in our daily lives to better ourselves as Gursikhs and have a more positive outlook. The discussion was followed by a competitive game of California Kickball and a pizza dinner.

With Guru Jee’s Kirpa, the Level 6 part 2 students have completed Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Santhia after the course of two years. This Sunday, they will be doing a Sehaj Paath Bhog. Join us this Sunday, May 28 from 5:30 PM - 7:15 PM for the Sehaj Paath Bhog in the main Darbar.

On May 21 at Sunday Youth and Family Darbar, we had the honour of having Bhai Bikramjit Singh Jee as our guest speaker. Bhai Sahib presented on the importance of Simran and the great effects it can have in our lives. Bhai Bikramjit Singh has a long history with Gurmat Center. They were first introduced to Gurmat Center during the 300th Khalsa celebrations in April 1999. Bhai Sahib also had the honor of being one of the first English speaking Parchariks at Gurmat Center, when GC’s trademark Sunday Darbar started in 2001.
