For the month of November, GCY was facilitated by Bhai Anoop Singh. Anoop Singh shared his experience staying at the Vidyala with Sant Giani Bhagwan Singh Ji Bhindranwale and his first time in India! After the discussion, an intense and fun game of musical chairs was played followed by pizza dinner and ice cream sundaes!

For the month of October, GCY was facilitated by Bhai Bayantseva Singh! He talked about his experience staying at the Miri Piri Academy in Amritsar. After the discussion, a fun game of Pictionary was played followed by pizza dinner and dessert! 

Students have been working hard for two weeks as they successfully completed their mock exams! Mock exams helped the students get ready for their midterms the week after in which they will be tested on everything they have learnt since September. Students will receive their grades and individual feedback in the upcoming weeks during Parent-Teacher Interviews! 

Sevadars came together to set up the Gurdwara Sahib for the Shaheedi Smagam. Sevadars put up posters and banners all around the Gurdwara Sahib. These posters and banners were set up to commemorate the countless Shaheeds of 1984. 

Candy packing was a success! Over 40 Sevadars, from grade 3 to university gathered together to pack 300 candy bags for the Shaheedi Smagam. We are so thankful to these wonderful Sevadars.

Sevadars went shopping and filled up many shopping carts with candy! All this candy is going to be packed in candy bags which will replace the candy that children would have gotten if they went trick-or-treating. Come to the Shaheedi Smagam on October 31 for an evening of Sangat, Katha, Gatka, prizes, candy and much more! 

For the month of September, GCY was facilitated by Bibi Japnaam Kaur. There was a great discussion on exploring and strengthening identity, followed by a great game of 5 second rule. The evening was concluded with a pizza dinner and sundaes for dessert!

The back-to-school Sunday Youth & Family Darbar took place on September 26. After Kirtan, Sangat heard the sakhi of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee’s first day of school. The evening ended off with pizza Langar and cupcakes!

With Guru Jee’s Kirpa, Gurmat Center classes began with a great start! The past week consisted of Punjabi, Nitnem Santhia, Guru Granth Sahib Jee Santhia, and Sikh Studies classes! A warm welcome to all of our students, teachers, and Sevadars! 

September 13th, 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of Gurmat Center! Here is a picture of Gurmat Center’s first ever class from 1993! With Guru Jee's Kirpa, we have been able to educate our youth about Sikhi and serve Guru Sahib over the past three decades. Gurmat Center is incredibly grateful for the continuous support from the Sangat and the contributions made by families over the past 30 years. We do Ardaas that Guru Sahib continues to shower their blessings so this Seva can continue for many years to come.
