Awards Ceremony Sevadars
30 youth Sevadars came together to support the admin team in running the Awards Ceremony. It was a wonderful weekend doing one another’s Sangat as everyone worked incredibly hard to prepare as well as wrap up the entire event! On Saturday, Sevadars met for 6 hours, followed by a 5:00 am start on Awards Ceremony day. These young Sevadars were the first to arrive and last to leave. They played a big role in ensuring the event ran smoothly.
Summer Camp 2022 Session 1
Session 1 came to an end! With over 100 campers, the camp was full of a lot of fun and learning. Campers enjoyed learning about Sikhi, playing sports and games, designing their own Gurdwaras and much more! The last week of camp had many fun-filled days like pajama day, sports day, movie day and water day!
Summer Camp Volunteer Orientation
Volunteer orientations are key to preparing Sevadars for their camp Seva! During the orientation, Sevadars get familiarized with their environment and are given packages that explain their duties for the camp. Sevadars also get to participate in ice breakers to get to know each other better. Sevadars are in grade 6 and higher and play a big role in ensuring the success of summer camp!
Awards Ceremony Fun!
Award Ceremony Teacher Recognition
These Sevadars were part of Gurmat Center's staff team this year, teaching Punjabi, Santhia, Sikh Studies, Kirtan & Gatka. We are so blessed to have a variety of Sevadar teachers. Along with our long time teachers who have decades of experience, it was wonderful to have 3 alumni join the staff this year!

Awards Ceremony Prizes
We were so excited to have Sher Singh join us for prize draws at the Awards Ceremony! Prizes were drawn for students, volunteers, Sunday Darbar participants, and parents! Finally, 3 grand prizes were drawn - an electric scooter, ping pong table, and speedster go-kart. Thank you to Morrison Windows for sponsoring all grand prizes year after year!
Alisha Harkirat Kaur Gill Award & Level 6 Pt. 2 Awards
The Level 6 Part 2 Students were all recognized with saropay for completing Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Santhia. Most of these students have spent the last 7 years at Gurmat Center learning Gurmat vidhya in areas of Gurmukhi, Nitnem Santhia, Sikh Studies & Guru Granth Sahib Ji Santhia. We hope these students continue to stay connected to Gurbani and Gurmat. We are very grateful to have had Jathedar Baba Bachittar Singh Jee and Bhai Navreet Singh Jee honour these students! While these students completed their GC levels, many students began their journey this year in Level 1.
