This past Sunday at Sunday Youth and Family Darbar, we were very fortunate to have Bhai Tajinder Singh Jee as our guest speaker. Bhai Sahib talked about the beauty of the Gurdwara Sahib. Come join us every Sunday 5:30-7 for an evening of Sangat, Kirtan and Prizes! 

We are excited to announce that Dastar tying classes are finally launching! Thank you to the Sangat for the encouragement and support to start this program for the past several years. Gurmat Center held a third movie night on Sunday, March 19th. Families gathered to watch the movie “Chaar Sahibzaade: Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur”. The movie night was a great success! Sangat came together and got to learn more about Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. This was a great way for Sangat to learn and be reminded of the shaheeds of our Panth. The movie was followed by prize draws, where students got the chance to win lots of cool prizes! 

On March 5, Gurmat Center launched a new initiative called ‘Student Skills Presentation!’ This is an opportunity for our students to showcase their skills. Each and every student receives a certificate to recognize their hard work and skills. The first class to present was Monday Punjabi level 1B. This class shared the Gurmukhi letters, numbers up to 30, and the Guru Sahib names.

This months GCY guest speaker was Jatinder Singh (Veer Jee) who spoke about ਭਾਣਾ - accepting God’s will. The youth enjoyed hearing about Veer Jee’s personal experiences and getting to share during the discussion portion. The discussion was followed by a round of Pictionary and a pizza dinner. 

Thank you to all the Sevadars who came out to help clean up and organize all Spring Gurmat Camp supplies and get classrooms ready. We are ready and excited to welcome all students back tomorrow! 

On day 4, campers and Sevadars headed to Highstreet Cinemas for a movie field trip! Campers got to enjoy popcorn, a drink and candy! After the movie, everyone headed back to Gurmat Center to enjoy a pizza lunch and cupcakes! We ended off with our final darbar where all campers and Sevadars received certificates and got to meet Babu lion as they said their final goodbyes!

On day 3, campers enjoyed their last day of classes learning about why we need Khalsa raj and what can we do on an individual level. All guest speakers were thanked and given custom 30th anniversary Gurmat Center gym bags with lots of goodies inside! Campers also got to take home their custom Spring Gurmat Camp bags. During recreation, all campers got to enjoy the sunshine outside and partake in lots of fun activities! The day then ended off with snack time and prizes in darbar!
