Last Sudnay, we were pleased to restart our weekly Sunday Youth and Family Darbar after several months of cancellation. While we have had to make some adjustments to the program in order to adhere to COVID-19 safety precautions, we are happy to continue our trademark English Katha for our youth. Sunday Darbar takes place every Sunday from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Check here for more information!
This weekend, we were fortunate enough to hold our 46th Gurmat Center Youth Night! This program has been running for 5 years and we feel incredibly blessed that we can provide an opportunity for youth to come together and discuss with one another in an environment they feel comfortable in. Thank you to all those who attended and we look forward to our next event!
The advanced Santhia class had their very first class last weekend! Led by Bhai Jagdev Singh Ji, this class focuses on Bhai Gurdaas Jee's Vaaran. Students have the opportunity to learn about the Bani's context, discuss Gurbani definitions and ask questions. All classes continue to follow COVID-19 protocols!
We are very pleased to be restarting our weekly Sunday Youth and Family Darbar in October! Sunday Darbar is one of the few weekly programs in the lower mainland providing English Katha for youth. The program takes place in the main Darbar Hall at Gurdwara Sahib Kalgidhar Darbar every Sunday evening from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This program is popular with children and families because all concepts of Sikhi are communicated in English by inspirational speakers.
With Guru Ji's Kirpa, Nitnem Santhia and Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Santhia classes started off last week! Nitnem Santhia students received a presentation about Santhia and classroom rules. Classes also did Ardaas before starting their Santhia. Students continue to physical distance inside and outside of the classroom!
Punjabi classes began two weeks ago and they are off to a great start! Upon arrival, students sanitize their hands and get their temperature checked. They will then go into their classes where they sit 6 feet apart from all their classmates while wearing masks. Students are excited to be back in class and continue their learning!
Register today for the new Santhia class that is being offered from September to January! This class is for teens and young adults who have completed Nitnem Santhia and would like to continue developing their Gurbani reading, pronunciation, and understanding skills. This class is starting this Saturday (September 26, 2020), so register today!
