This past weekend, @dasmeshgurmatacademy Sevadars visited Gurmat Center for a Punjabi training session. In this session, Bhai Harnek Singh Jee shared what they have learned in their past 40 years of teaching Punjabi. Baba Jee shared their tricks and tips for teaching Punjabi. It was very wonderful connecting with these amazing Sevadars who are also doing the Seva of teaching youth Gurmukhi.

Last week, Nitnem Santhia and Sikh Studies students had their Spring midterms. Student progress will be shared through parent teacher interviews and in class with the students.

Kirtan classes have been taking place since October. Students have been safely practicing and developing new skills in their classes. Advanced Kirtan students have also been gaining a deeper understanding of Raag.

Last week, one of our Gurmat Center Sevadars presented at a United Nations virtual conference. The presentation discussed ways to make buildings more inclusive and accessible for those with disabilities. Tejpreet Kaur was the only Sikh out of all the speakers that presented! We always encourage our youth to advance their leadership and communication skills through important events such as this.

Students participate in Pink Shirt Day! Students wore pink today to spread the importance of empathy, being kind to everyone and to take a stand against bullying. Thank you to everyone that participated!

Advanced Santhia classes have now come to an end! Students had the opportunity to do Santhia of Bhai Gurdaas Jee's Vaaran for 4 months. Students asked many questions and participated in engaging discussions.
